VioGen 2 and Protocol 2025 strengthen police response to gender-based violence
The Ministry of the Interior has launched the new VioGén 2 System, a renewed and more advanced version of the platform for comprehensive monitoring of gender violence cases. This update represents a technological and functional leap forward with the aim of improving risk assessment, strengthening coordination between institutions and offering a more effective and adapted police response.
VioGén 2 incorporates new risk indicators, more precise algorithms and interconnects with eleven relevant databases from the police, judicial, penitentiary and social spheres, such as SIRAJ, SIGO, ALERTCOPS or SIAV. It also improves the security of the system, the capacity to respond to new scenarios and allows a more agile management of notifications and incidents.
This progress is accompanied by the new Protocol 2025, which unifies and updates all the regulations in force since 2018. Its new features include the elimination of the “Not Appreciated” risk level, a new more precise classification, specific measures for cases involving minors or especially vulnerable victims, and reinforced actions in the field of cybersecurity.
With these tools, the VioGén System takes a decisive step towards a more comprehensive, personalized and effective protection of victims of gender-based violence.
